Littering and fly tipping has become such a prevalent issue within cities and towns across the UK, that community organisations have been joining together with the assistance of local volunteers to try to take control and clean up our environment.

One of the groups, ABCD in Luton, has joined forces with Love Luton to form the ‘Keep Luton Tidy’ campaign.  The main goal set out by these two groups was to get people from the local Luton community to come together, clean up their streets and help keep the town looking good.

There have been plenty of community groups wishing to take part in this nationwide movement against littering, fly tipping and general anti-social behaviour. It is not just about picking up rubbish but also about raising awareness of what can be done to keep our environment clean, safe and beautiful.

If you’ve ever wondered to yourself how you can give back to your community and where to start, this project would be perfect for you. No matter how small the changes are, everyone can make a difference to their community.

The next local tidy up session will be taking place on Tuesday 28th February from 12pm – 1pm, in Market Hill, Luton.
The Great British Spring Clean, will be taking place between the 17th March 2023 – 2nd April 2023.
